Cell phones and driving

Are cell phones a distraction to drivers? I believe that for some people cell phones are but for others not. People who can multi-task talking and driving or texting and driving should be allowed to. The law in my opinion should not exist; it should be a personal choice for the drivers. Only the driver knows his abilities if you think there is a danger with you driving with a cell phone then why take the risk. But for others who can multi-task, why be punished by the actions of others.

UFC welterweight champion “GSP”

George “rush” St-Pierre also known as GSP is an MMA fighter, he is ranked number one in the pound for pound fighters. GSP was born May 19, 1981 in Saint-Isidore, Quebec. St-Pierre is a well rounded fighter, since the age of 7 he was introduced to Kyokushin karate by his father because he was being bullied in school. Later he started practicing different styles of combat. Throughout his life he has mastered wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and boxing. At the age of 16 GSP won his first MMA fight by knockout. The sport of MMA was impressed by the talent of the young George St-Pierre and was put to the test. Today his fighting record is 18-2 and has grown to be the best fighter in the MMA.
GSP is my favorite fighter because he fights with respect towards his opponent. He comes into every fight well prepared, trained and works harder than any UFC fighter. He knows he is number 1 but never lets it get to his head.

Days of thunder

When I was a kid there was this movie I always watched, it was probably my favourite one, it was called days of thunder. I recently came upon this movie and watched it over, now I realise that Days of thunder is a racing movie that teaches you that without trust you will not succeed in what you’re trying to do “If you don’t trust your builder, you can’t race”. The main actor in this movie is Tom Cruise, he plays a young driver who was influenced by his father, which made him the aggressive driver he was. After being introduced to a new racing team Crew chief and builder of the race car made him realise that there isn’t just one way to do things but you have to have trust in your team to get the job done. Following a long racing season, he lives his lifelong dream to win the Daytona 500.

New rule in hockey

This year in house league hockey they came out with a new rule stating that there is no physical contact allowed between players and coaching staff. This rule is enforced because there are many new players that come into the sport and would rather learn to play hockey then to get hit into the boards while learning. Hockey is a contact sport and for someone like me who has been playing since I was 8, taking out contact is frustrating but for the new players coming into this sport it is important that they learn by example and not getting discouraged because they keep getting knocked down. This new rule will be hard to adapt to the veteran players but it will remind them why they play hockey, to better their skills and to meet new people.
